[ Temporarily closed ] In La Massana, at the foot of the Valira del Nord river, lies the ancient Farga Rossell, one of the most important iron processing centers in Andorra's history. It was, along with the Farga Areny, the last to close, in 1876. Just 120 years later, when it was in a state of abandonment, a revival of Andorran identity signals led to excavations being initiated for its restoration. This culminated in 2002 with the opening of the interpretation center, which is the starting point of the Iron Route. Currently at Farga Rossell, visitors can witness the entire process of iron manufacturing and processing until it is turned into ingots for commercialization, as well as the evolution of the techniques used. The educational workshops include explanatory videos and the opportunity to see some of the forge's elements in action, such as the furnace, the hydraulic hammer, or other typical tools.
